Listening multiple choice
Read the stem first, paraphrase the options, and listen for the speaker's final view rather than the first word you hear.
বাংলায় সারাংশ (Bangla summary)
প্রথমে প্রশ্ন পড়ুন, বিকল্পগুলো নিজের ভাষায় ভাবুন, এবং বক্তার চূড়ান্ত মতামত শুনুন।
By the end of this lesson you can
- Read stems and options efficiently in the preparation time
- Eliminate options as you listen
- Handle "choose TWO" questions
The stem tells you what to listen for
The stem is the question part. Underline its key idea first: "What is the main reason the students chose this topic?" means you are listening for a reason, not just for the topic.
Then read the options and note how they differ. Often they share words and differ in one detail, such as time, person or reason.
Eliminate as you go
As the speaker talks, cross out options that are rejected or that answer a different question. The one left standing is usually the answer.
For "Choose TWO letters" questions, the two answers can come in any order and each scores one mark. Speakers usually discuss all five options, so keep track of which ones they agree on.

Recording: "The timetable's fine, and I can afford it. It's more that the lectures are all one-way; I learn better by discussing."
